Les adieux à la reine / Farewell my queen
The Grand Budapest Hotel (2014) dir.Wes Anderson
That they all have a power beyond his own, a power
beyond the reach of any magic, is a truth he has never grasped.
Legend tells that in the Age of Heroes the thirteenth Lord Commander of the Night’s Watch fell in love with a woman with skin as white as the moon and eyes like blue stars. He loved her though her skin was cold as ice, and when he gave his seed to her he gave her his soul as well. He brought her to the Nightfort and bound the brothers of the Night’s Watch to his will through sorcery. He declared himself “Night’s King" and ruled over the Wall and The Gift as his own. The King in the North and Joramun, the King-Beyond-the-Wall, joined forces to defeat him and his queen.
But I’m A Cheerleader (1999)
The difference between learning a modern language and an ancient language is that in first year French you learn “Where is the bathroom?” and “How do I get to the train station?” and in first year Attic Greek or Latin you learn “I have judged you worthy of death” and “The tyrant had everyone in the city killed.”
From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

How about a kiss, Saumensch?
He stood waist-deep in the water for a few moments longer before climbing out and handing her the book. His pants clung to him, and he did not stop walking. In truth, I think he was afraid. Rudy Steiner was scared of the book thief’s kiss. He must have longed for it so much. He must have loved her so incredibly hard. So hard that he would never ask for her lips again and would go to his grave without them.
